ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Palmyra Medical Center opened its new cafeteria Friday. The food service system for visitor and employee meals at Palmyra has been renovated.
People can order personal pizzas, have food freshly prepared while they wait, or enjoy traditional, yet healthier southern cuisine and fresh salad.
Chef Tim Underwood says in the two weeks the new changes have been in effect, traffic has increased. He said, "We literally have, as of this week, tripled the volume of sales, not only in dollars, but in terms of actual customers. Before we took over the account, we were doing 100-150 meals a day out of lunch. Now, we're doing up to 400 meals at lunch."
There are also plans for better, fresher and made to order room service for patients. The "At Your Request" service will be up and running later this year.
