A Ben Hill County man is shot twice and critically wounded by his roomate.

35-year-old Wayne Aikens was shot around 3:00 a.m. Wedesday morning. He's still in surgery at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. 

Wendell Raymond Chambless, admits he shot Aikens once in the stomach and once in the ear with a .20 gauge shotgun. The two lived in a home just North of Fitzgerald on Lobingier Avenue.

Investigators say the shooting was the result of an argument.
