ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The rivalry between Deerfield-Windsor and Sherwood Christian will be renewed next school year.
Sherwood Christian and Tiftarea Academy are moving up to AAA.
Brookwood school is dropping down to AA. The Eagles just moved to AA two years ago. After struggling to compete in most sports at AAA level, Sherwood Christian has won region titles in football and boys basketball this school year. Headmaster Dr. Glen Schultz hopes the success will help when the Eagles move back up to AAA. He believes the Eagles will be more competitive because there more schools with similar enrollment numbers in AAA but some schools will have a numbers advantage.
Dr. Glen Schultz said. "The biggest problem with AAA in GISA and other schools face it too is there is such a wide disparity in enrollment numbers. In AA and A, you have got closer enrollment numbers with the schools but in AAA it is huge."
The GiSA will have just two regions in each class for football.
Terrell Academy and Fullington will play in Class A in football and in AA in other sports.
