(Columbus-AP) -- Muscogee County sheriff's deputies have arrested two teenagers on charges of constructing an explosive device that they say was similar to a small hand grenade and of throwing it at a man.
Seventeen-year-old Stuart Lamb of Columbus is charged with possession and manufacture of destructive devices and with the use of a destructive device -- all felony charges. He also is charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct and possession of marijuana.
Lamb was released from jail on bonds totaling more than $3,400. Deputies arrested him Monday.
A 16-year-old boy faces similar felony charges. The juvenile was taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center. Sheriff's Captain Troy Culpepper says the teens are accused of throwing the device from a car at a Columbus man as he walked along a road March 17th.
The man was not seriously injured.
