Westover girls defeated Peach County 56-46 on Monday to claim the top seed in the tournament and the right to host the semifinals and finals. DyTiesha Dunson led the Lady Patriots with 22 points. The Lady Patriots lost to Peach County in January but got the revenge they were looking for when it counted the most.
"We lost to them our last game and it was a big game and we just had to come out and redeem ourselves on the court tonight and keep a lead in the fourth quarter" said guard Cessily Colwell.
"We thought we should have won last time we kind of blew our lead and so it feels very good to be on top" said Dunson.
"They were beating us up and down the floor and coach was like you know the refs have nothing to do with them beating you up and down the floor that's you. You all need to hustle so we did that this game and it made the difference" said forward Danielle Glover.
The game was postponed Friday due to snow and then again on Saturday.
