The Early County coroner confirmed Sunday that 2-year-old Rocky Stroud III apparently fired a gun and shot himself.
The boy was at Tim's Package store on North Main Street where his parents work. He died at the store.
The case is still under investigation, but will likely be ruled an accident.
Stroud's body will be sent to the GBI Crime lab for an autopsy.
