Two Albany men arrested for armed robbery

March 25, 2003

Dougherty County -- Two Albany men have been arrested for the robbery of a convenience store in East Dougherty County.

Dougherty County Police Investigators say 23-year-old Steven Taylor of Albany pointed a gun at the clerk of the Stop and Buy store at 700 Cordele Road, robbing him at about 9:30 last Thursday morning. 23-year-old Larry Taylor of Albany is charged with driving the get-away car.

This Cadillac they used in the robbery led to their arrest.

Dougherty County Police Lt. Jason Hager said "We got a description of the vehicle from some witnesses at the scene. It was described as a large dark, green, with a brown top. We started checking the area for a vehicle meeting that description. That led to the traffic stop on the vehicle."

Steven and Larry Taylor are not related, but were classmates at Dougherty High School. They are both charged with armed robbery and are being held in the Dougherty County Jail.
