Westover-Peach girls moved to Monday

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Region 1-AAA will have to wait until Monday to find out where the region tournament semifinals and finals will be played.

The game that will decide the site between the Westover and Peach County girls was postponed on Saturday for a second time due to Friday's snowstorm.

The girls game will be played at 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the Westover gym.

The Westover/Peach County boys game has been canceled because the region seedings are already determined.

The region tournament will also start on Monday at Dougherty and Cairo High.

At 5:00 p.m. Monday at Dougherty the 5th seeded Dougherty girls play #8 Worth County followed by the #5 Perry boys against #8 Peach County.

At the Cairo gym, the #6 Syrupmaids play Perry Lady Panthers and the #6 Worth County boys will play #7 Crisp County.

The tournament heads to Crisp County on Tuesday for four games.

In the boys bracket, the #4 Dougherty Trojans play the Perry/Peach County winner and the #3 Cairo Syrupmakers face the Worth Co/Crisp Co. winner.

In the girls bracket, #3 Crisp County Lady Cougars play Cairo/Perry winner and #4 Monroe girls play Dougherty/Worth County winner.

Tuesday's winners advance to Thursday semifinals at either Westover or Peach County.

Monroe boys are the #1 seed and play the Dougherty/Perry/Peach County bracket winner.

Westover is #2 and will face the winner of Tuesday's Cairo/Worth Co/Crisp Co. bracket.

The Crisp County/Cairo/Perry bracket winner will face the #2 girls seed and the Monroe/Dougherty/Worth County bracket winner will play the #1 girls seed on Thursday.

The 1-AAA consolation and championship games are Friday.
