ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Albany has seen a good amount of snowfall Friday. About 3:00 this afternoon the heaviest snow of the day started.

A Putney grandmother, stopped at the TV station because it was snowing so hard, to let her three grandchildren play in the snow.

Eight year old Derrick Cade, 6 year old Dedrick Cade, and one year old Jaslene Cade got to run and play in the snow. And they had a lot of fun.

"It keeps falling in my face and my eyes," Derrick Cade said.

"It wasn't snowing in Putney or out past Lily Pone, so I decided to come out here and bring the grandchildren and enjoy," Lorene Harris said.

A lot of fun for this South Georgia family, enjoying the snow in Albany. Road officials are worried that snow is melting, and the streets and bridges are very wet, and will ice over as the temperatures drop below freezing.

They say if you don't need to drive tonight, stay off the roads. Dougherty County and Albany Road officials say if you see ice on the roads, call 911 and report it, so they can spread sand on danger spots.
