ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Palmyra Medical Center also took advantage of Valentine's weekend to spread the word about heart health.

The 13th Annual Valentine's Health Screening included free blood pressure, body mass index, cholesterol and glucose screenings.

The tests only take about 30-minutes but medical professionals say you can learn a lot about your health in that time.

"That's why we have the educational services, when someone comes in to get their blood pressure checked we focus on if their blood pressure is a little too high," explains Beverly Willis, a family nurse practitioner with Palmyra. "We provide educational services on that and what we focus on is ways to decrease that blood pressure which can include diet exercise, simple things."

Nearly 300 people took advantage of the free screenings.
