ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A lot of people dropped by the mall on their snow day and they had a chance to get a health check-up while they were there.

Phoebe Putney staff members offered tips for heart health at the Albany Mall.

The "Love Your Heart" event provided free blood pressure screenings to shoppers of any age. More than a dozen Phoebe screening stations were available throughout the mall for shoppers' convenience. Phoebe staff say Valentine's Day is the perfect time to host an event like this.

"Valentine's Day is a wonderful time of the year to think about your heart and the ones you love," says Darrell Sabbs, Community Outreach Coordinator for Phoebe Putney. "So we thought it was a great opportunity to get people to think about how important the heart is to your health."

Staff members say they screened a lot of young children because of the snow day.
