AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Valdosta High assistant coach Michael Pollock is a head coach once again.
The Sumter County School board has approved the hiring of Michael Pollock to be the third head football coach at Americus-Sumter High School.
Pollock coached the Cook Hornets in 2001 and 2002 and led them to a 13-1 record and the AA semifinals in 2001
Since then he has worked as an offensive coordinator at Appling County and most recently under Rick Tomberlin at Valdosta High.
Pollock was selected from field of five finalists that did include Monroe head coach Charles Truitt.
Pollock takes over for Mark Wilson who resigned in December.
