ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The top seed Sherwood Christian boys basketball team is shooting for the school's first region title in six years.

The Eagles basketball team would love to also join the football team who won a region title back in the fall.

The Sherwood Christian boys are expected to do just that after winning all eight region games and the school is hosting the region tournament.

Head coach Matt Ruta says any of the four teams remaining in the tournament can win the region title.

Matt Ruta said. "We didn't roll anybody in the region. It is not like we beat people by big margins. I think we are pretty realistic about who we are. We need to be focused. Play this game like it is any other game. We just have to out play somebody."

The Eagles play Valwood boys at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.  The Lady Eagles play Valwood girls at 4:00 p.m. and the top seed Tiftarea Lady Panthers play Southwest Georgia at 7:00 p.m.  The other boys semifinal is at 5:30 p.m. between Tiftarea and Southwest Georgia.

Thursday's games are at Sherwood Christian Academy.

The finals are Friday at Darton College.
