ECHOLS COUNTY, GA (WALB) –A tip about a Lowndes County fugitive led to a meth bust in Echols County.

When authorities knocked on the door of a Willow Lane home in Echols County, Eddie Ledbetter jumped through a window and ran into the woods.

They caught Ledbetter and tased him after he hit and bit investigators.

They also found meth in the home. In addition to outstanding warrants of violation of probation, burglary, and terroristic threats, Ledbetter is now charged with possession of meth.

Mary Griffis, Shawn Barrett, Craig Setzer, and Amy Claypool are also all charged with possession of meth.

Echols, Lowndes, and Lanier County authorities were on the scene Tuesday night, as well as the South Georgia Drug Task Force. A Department of Corrections K-9 tracked down Ledbetter. Most arrests could be made and additional charges are pending.
