ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The family of Douglas native Courtney Hayes says that her body was positively identified Wednesday in Haiti.
They received word of the identification about 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Her parents had already sent dental records and DNA to be matched with bodies found in the rubble of the Hotel Montana.
It is not known exactly when Courtney's body was recovered, but family members say it was January 31st when the U. S. State Department called, asking for more information, because they found a body in the room.
The family is planning a memorial service for 3:00 Saturday at 1st United Methodist in Douglas.
