ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Albany Police are looking for two cars involved in the hit and run death of a Bronwood man early Monday on the Liberty Expressway.
46 year old Adrian Serrano died from his injuries about 9:30 Monday night. Police say about 1:15 Monday morning Serrano's pickup truck swerved to avoid a fast moving vehicle
and overturned in the median of the Liberty Expressway. He was thrown out of the truck and was lying in the roadway, when a light blue sedan like a Chevrolet Impala or Ford Taurus struck him. Both those cars drove on, never stopping.
Albany Police Sgt. William Dowdell said "Regardless of whether they knew it was a person or not, when they hit something. If you want to get to the next exit and then call, do something."
Police say that part of the Expressway is very dark, so it will be up to the District Attorney office to decide if any charges would be filed.
If you have any information about this fatal crash, call Albany Police at 431-2100 or CRIME STOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
