A Lowndes County man is behind bars after deputies uncovered nearly half a million dollars of marijuana.
ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Albany Police Chief John Proctor urged senior citizens to use their life experience to teach young people about civil rights and better race relations.
Proctor told seniors at the SOWEGA Council on Aging Downtown Center that their knowledge of the civil rights movement needs to be shared with younger generations.
Proctor said "Don't lose faith. No, the struggle is not over, but times are clearly better than it was when I was growing up."
Proctor spoke at the Senior Center as part of their observation of Black History Month.
