ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Employees are stocking shelves with chips, ribs and more at Winn- Dixie Supermarket in Albany. They are preparing for the rush so that people can grab what they need and check out.

Tim Stanton and his family strolled in Sunday to snag some last minute food.

"We've got a room in the house where we can hoot-n-holler and we love getting together for these type of events," said Stanton.

Angela Hines took advantage of some hot items on sale including wings, steak, and frozen pizzas.

"I've got the food together but I'm just getting last minute things," said Hines

Calls started ringing in at Papa Johns Pizza this morning for people ordering superbowl pies.

"So far it's the busiest superbowl on record," said General Manager Jamison Chim. We've been going 100 percent since 9:30 this morning.

Chim says he's had to call in extra staff and borrow food from other stores to keep from running out. His biggest single order is 100 pizzas. Employees at his store are projected to stuff pies in at least 400 boxes Superbowl Sunday.

"That's without breaking a sweat and that's a low figure," Chim said.

Business is up for both Papa Johns and local grocery stores who hope to bring in the dough from a big weekend.
