Lion's Club helps storm victims

March 23, 2003

Camilla- Lion's Club International gave the local organization $10,000 to give to families in Mitchell and Worth Counties affected by Thursday's tornadoes.

Lion's club members say the victims may use the money for clothing and food. "Some people don't even have insurance and its just that we needed to be there to help other people in need," says Lion's Club Disaster Relief Coordinator, Terry Foreman.

You must be registered with GEMA to qualify for the grant money. The local Lion's Club will issue vouchers beginning Wednesday at the old 'Big B' drug store in Camilla from 9 AM until 2 PM.

Many victims are still in need of food, hygiene products, cleaning products, and other goods. You can donate goods at a center located next to the Wal-mart in Camilla.
