Mother wants son to come home

March 23, 2003

Albany- Joanne Corriere's television is always on, just so she can see war coverage. She's worried about her son, 28-year old Alex Corriere, an army Lieutenant who left for Iraq four weeks ago.

She adds, "I just don't understand what this war is about. I don't think we should be having a war." She says she's anti-war, and she says she doesn't support President Bush's decision to attack. Corriere adds, "I am patriotic, but I think the U.S. should have done more to work things out. It's 2003 and I think it's time out for war."

Joanne says her faith and reading various bible verse each day calms her anger and strengthens her belief that Alex will come home safely.

Alex Corriere attended Westover High School where he played football and was on the wrestling team.
