ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One of rock and roll's greatest keyboardists performed in Albany tonight. Chuck Leavell played for groups such as the Rolling Stones and the Allman Brothers.

Friday night, he played in front of a packed house at the municipal auditorium.

Proceeds go to Graceway, a center that helps women overcome substance abuse and other problems.

Leavell says he enjoys the intimate crowds at smaller, historic venues like the auditorium.

"With the Rolling Stones it's fun to play at the big places but when I do these kind of shows it gives me a chance to put on a more intimate performance and I enjoy that very much," said Chuck Leavell.

Leavell also played keyboard for Eric Clapton and George Harrison. He currently lives in middle Georgia.
