AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -  The search is currently underway for two head coaches at Dougherty County High Schools.

Next week there could be a third opening.

Monroe head coach Charles Truitt is one of five finalists for the job according to the Sumter County School Superintendent's office.

Truitt is a former assistant at Americus High and was the last head coach at the now closed Sumter County High.

Americus-Sumter assistant Darren Alford, Valdosta High assistant Michael Pollock, former Lowndes assistant Rob Armstrong and former Ft Valley State head coach Deondri Clark are the other five finalists at Americus-Sumter.

The Sumter County school board is wanting to hire a new head coach at their board meeting next week.

Americus-Sumter head coach Mark Wilson resigned after four seasons last month.
