ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  After hearing from nearly two dozen concerned business owners and parents, Dougherty County School Board members again voted to move forward with Joshua Murfree as its only superintendent finalist.

The vote came on a substitute motion made by James Bush.

Board chairman David Maschke had moved to start the selection process over after it was determined by the board's attorney that the board acted illegally last week in not releasing the names of the top three finalists for the job.

But Bush made the substitute motion, and it passed four to three.
