VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -   Lowndes High linebacker Telvin Smith affirmed his commitment to sign with Florida State on Monday according to head coach Randy McPherson.

Smith made his commitment to the Seminoles back in the summer but Georgia kept recruiting him and there was some belief Smith could wind up a Bulldog after a visit to Athens last weekend.

Smith is excited about being reunited with former Lowndes teammates Greg Reid and Gerald Demps in Tallahassee.

The Vikings will have 11 players signing scholarships on Wednesday with five going to division one schools.

Lineman Ed Christian is signing with Auburn, running back Khary Franklin is headed to Troy, defensive end Michael Copeland will sign with Florida Atlantic and defensive lineman Jordan Black is planning to sign with Eastern Kentucky.
