VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The Valdosta State Tennis teams pick up the 2010 season right where they left off in 2009.
Both the men and the women finished 4th in the nation in 2009 and both teams are headed into 2010 both teams are ranked 4th in the preseason.
But for head coach John Hansen 4th isn't good enough. The Blazers believe they can win it all and with good reason. The women have almost everybody back including three All Americans. The men have added a couple transfers that are ranked among the top players in the country. Coach Hansen says the Blazers have what it takes to win it all and anything short of a national championship will be a disappointment.
"We actually do. I know a coach should not say that but we have the horrible word potential. To do it know it's all up to the coaching and you know how if you win it's the players fault and if you lose it's the coaches fault" said Hansen.
"You just expect for the best and as that goes you can be disappointed or you can be satisfied and hopefully we're not satisfied until the end of the season."
The Lady Blazers open up the season on February 6th against Hillsboro. The men open up the same day against South Carolina Aiken.
