ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The disaster in Haiti has prompted college students in Albany to raise money while mixing in a little entertainment.

ASU held its Haiti benefit concert Sunday night. A native of Haiti also spoke about how much his country relies on America's help and how much he appreciates everyone's efforts to lend a hand.

People were encouraged to make donations which will go towards the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.

"Its important for people to come out and support Haiti and to support our benefit concert because Haiti is in need of our help," said ASU volunteer and student Latrice Lewis. "They have lost so much and if that were to happen in the U.S., we would want someone to come and help us."

ASU and the Student Government Association sponsored the event.
