By Wainwright Jeffers - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Herns Mesamours a Haitian native and Albany State University student we met after the earthquake finally heard from his family.

Herns Mesamours found out his mother and father are alive.

He is now able to receive regular calls from them, but he says they're still sleeping on the streets and they need food.

Mesamours had two uncles who were killed in the quake.

Between them, they had seven children. He says his father has agreed to raise the children, even though he has little money.
