ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Media Mogul Ted Turner will soon own land in Dougherty County.

Atlanta developer Tom Cousins agreed to sell Nonami Plantation on Big Springs Road to Turner. The deal is expected to be finalized soon. The plantation covers 8,800 acres and is considered one of the best quail hunting areas in the state.

Turner expects to manage the property in an environmentally and ecologically friendly manner. It would be his largest land acquisition in Georgia. He owns more than two million acres and is the largest individual owner of land in the country.
