ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The ceremony to retire the jersey of former Deerfield-Winsdor star basketball player Andre Young has been postponed.
The ceremony was planned to happen between Friday night's games with Tiftarea.
Deerfield-Windsor athletic director and head boys basketball coach Gordy Gruhl says Young will be unable to attend the ceremony because he has to attend a Friday afternoon practice.
Gruhl says Young's trip to Deerfield-Windsor was approved by Clemson back in October.
Young is now in the starting lineup due to the injury of Demontez Stitt.
Clemson coach Oliver Purnell wants Young at practice with the Tigers hosting Maryland on Sunday afternoon.
There is no word on when the ceremony will be held for Young who was a four year starter at Deerfield-Windsor.
Deerfield-Windsor hosts Tiftarea starting with the girls game at 6:30 p.m..
