VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta State guard Leschelle Matthews is the Gulf South Conference player of the week in the east division.
Matthews scored 19 points in the win over West Alabama and had 17 against Alabama Huntsville.
She is the second straight Lady Blazer to win the player of the week honors with Sierra Nixon getting the nod last week.
The Valdosta State basketball teams are both undefeated in conference play and are on the road Saturday at West Georgia.
