ADEL, GA (WALB) –Supporters of a south Georgia state park manager want you to sign a petition to try to keep him from being transferred.

The Department of Natural Resources says Reed Bingham Park Manager Chet Powell voluntarily accepted a transfer to High Falls State Park.

Some Reed Bingham supporters don't like it.

An online petition to keep Powell there has 679 signatures.

Supporters hope to get 1,000 signatures online and 1,000 on paper.

"The next step we will ask our congress people to take it to the governor and to also Mr. Clark so that they get a copy of the petition with the comments from the general public so that they know what's going on," said Ernest Browning.
