Albany State escapes LeMoyne-Owen

Oscar Morris scored 16 points and Brandon Sims added 14 points in a double-double to lead the Golden Rams to a 65-64 win over the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians Tuesday night in Albany State's HPER Gymasium. The win improves the Golden Rams to 6-9 overall and 6-6 in SIAC play. LeMoyune-Owen is now 10-8 and 9-7 in the conference.

James Clark scored 10 points, with six assists, and Truett O'Neal added nine points. Sims led the Golden Ram defense with 11 rebounds and a steal.

    Taurean Moy led the Magicians with 18 points, scoring six from the three-point zone. Ladarius Johnson scored 12 points and Maurice Mickens added 10 points with nine assists.

    The Golden Rams will be in action on Thursday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m. against the Miles College Bears at Albany State's HPER Gymnasium.

 Nefeesha Frost scored eight points to lead the Albany State University Lady Rams to a 38-37 victory over the LeMoyne-Owen Lady Magicians in Albany, Ga. on Tuesday night.

    The Lady Rams improved their record to 4-13 and 4-8 in the SIAC. The Lady Magicians dropped to 9-10 overall and 8-7 in conference play.

    Callie Hamiton led the Lady Ram defense, grabbing 13 rebounds with six points on the scoreboard. Taccara Bivins and Markeisha Henderson also added six points.

    Shonice Sprouse led the Lady Magicians with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Jasmine Massey added eight points.

    The Lady Rams will be in action Thursday, Jan. 28, against the Miles College Lady Bears at 5:30 p.m. at HPER Gymnasium in Albany.
