ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany clothing store is collecting jeans to send to victims of the Haiti earthquake. It's the 3rd annual Teens for Jeans Campaign at Aeropostale, a denim drive that rounds up jeans to donate to area homeless teens and shelters.
But this year they're taking the campaign a step further and donating to Haiti.
Aeropostale is donating 100,000 new jeans and hoping to collect 100,000 more to send to Haiti earthquake victims. The rest of the jeans will be distributed to homeless shelters.
"All you have to do is bring in your gently warn jeans. Any style, any brand, any size to any local Aeropostale, to donate your jeans. And to say thank you we're going to give you 25 percent off of a new pair of jeans," said Christina Sanchez, Aeropostale employee.
Aeropostale teamed up with DoSomething.org for the event. So far the Albany Aeropostale at the mall has collected 170 jeans. Their goal is 636. The campaign started January 19th and ends on Valentine's Day.
