ALBANY,  GA (WALB) – Chattahoochee Police Chief Vann Pullen believes they found the body of missing duck hunter, 34-year-old John Slappey of Albany.

The body was found floating in the Apalachicola River in Liberty county just after 10 Sunday night. Chief Pullen says Liberty county search and rescue teams were looking for another man who went missing Sunday around 6 after a boating accident. The body was found 30 miles south of the Jim Woodruff Dam near Bristol, Florida.

An autopsy is being done right now to confirm the identity.

Slappey was duck hunting on Lake Seminole on December 20th with his brother when he was pulled over a spillway at the Jim Woodruff Dam.
