(Flowery Branch-AP) -- The Atlanta Falcons called a news conference in Flowery Branch to unveil a new team logo.
The Falcons have redesigned their red, black and white uniforms four times, but the logo has not changed since the team debuted in 1966.
NFL Properties helped the Falcons modernize the original design -- a Cubist black bird with white highlights.
Rankin Smith Senior -- the late team founder -- commissioned illustrator Wayland Moore for the Falcons' first logo.
Arthur Blank has hinted at changing the Falcons' logo and colors since he bought the franchise from the Smith family last year.
