ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Peanut farmers gather in Albany to check out the latest innovations to make their jobs easier.

The Georgia Peanut Farm Show at the Albany Civic Center showcased the latest tools of the trade as well as new ideas and tips on how make peanut farming more profitable.

Lester Hawkins has grown peanuts in Baker County for 35 years.  He says it's never too late to learn something that can help him do his job better.

"We come to see what kind of new exhibits they got out, what can we do to make our crops better, cost less and more productive," said Hawkins.

Georgia farmers didn't plant as many peanuts this season because there was a surplus of peanuts from the year before.
