VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A double win for the Valdosta State basketball teams in the this week's Gulf South Conference East Division player of the week award winners.
The Blazers Tyrone Curnell wins the men's player of the week award for a second straight week.
Curnell scored 32 points and had 10 rebounds in the Blazers win over West Florida last Wednesday.
He followed that with 23 points in the VSU win over then number one ranked Augusta State.
The Blazers are ranked eighth this week.
Sierra Nixon is the first Lady Blazer to win player of the week honors this season.
Nixon had 16 rebounds in the VSU win over West Florida and had 12 points in Monday's win over Clark Atlanta.
VSU basketball teams host West Alabama Thursday night.
