(Undated-AP) -- Hundreds of National Guardsmen are being deployed from Georgia this week to the Middle East.

About 120 members of the 190th Military Police Company of the Georgia Army National Guard will head to Fort Benning from Kennesaw. Officials say they'll be deployed overseas.

More than 530 Georgia Army National Guardsmen -- members of the 878th Engineering Battalion headquarters in Augusta -- will depart Fort Stewart on Thursday.

Subordinate units from Sandersville, Swainsboro, Metter and Lyons will also be deployed.

The First Battalion of the 214th Field Artillery of the Georgia Army National Guard -- with subordinate units in Toccoa, Hartwell, Elberton, Athens, Washington, Thomson and Waynesboro -- also will be deployed Thursday.
