Red Cross blood supplies get a boost

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A group of churches came together to give blood donations that will help replenish the American Red Cross supplies.

Members of the Albany Baptist Ministers Conference will rolled up their sleeves Saturday and allowed Red Cross attendants to draw blood.

Albany church members waited to donate at First Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church on Corn Avenue.

The Red Cross must collect over 6 million blood donations each year to meet the national need.

They're also the number two supplier of blood the US Armed Forces.
