ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Drivers better slow down on one busy Albany road. Starting January 21st, the DOT will reduce the speed limit on Gillionville Road from 55 to 45 miles per hour.
The limit will go down from just west of Lockett Station Road to west of Eight Mile Road.
"55 was good. There's a lot of traffic with schools and in the evening, said Lakeshia Elder who drives the road everyday. "Going down to 45 will make it a little bit more hectic."
Crews are working to widen the road. The DOT says drivers need to be extra careful.
