ALBANY, GA (WALB) – On Friday Perdue proposed slashing another $1.2-billion from the current budget that runs through June.

His plan includes three more furlough days for teachers and state employees.

Lawmakers say there are no easy answers to the ongoing budget crisis.

"We only have two options; we can either raise your taxes, or cut the costs of government. Those are the only two options we have because constitutionally we must balance the budget, I don't think there's an appetite to raise people's taxes," said Rep. Ed Rynders, (R) Lee County.

Ed Rynders plans to introduce legislation that would freeze the salaries of administrators in any school system that furloughs teachers.
