ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  As the search for survivors continues in Haiti, a Douglas family's elation turns to despair.

The family of 23-year old Courtney Hayes was told Thursday that she was alive and well and survived the earthquake.

But last night came the gut-wrenching news that the information was not correct, and Courtney is unaccounted for.

Courtney had traveled to Haiti with 13 others from Lynn University in Florida.

She, three other students and two faculty members are still missing.

Eight Lynn University students flew back to the states last night.

Those eight were out by the pool at Hotel Montana when the quake hit and they are okay.

Courtney and the three other missing students were inside their rooms on the first and second floors of the hotel, which sustained serious damage.

The two missing faculty members were in the hotel's fitness room when the quake hit.
