DOT announces speed reduction on Gillionville Road

From the D.O.T.

WHAT:          The Georgia DOT will be reducing the speed limit on Gillionville Rd. from 55 to 45 miles per hour on Thursday, January 21.

Contractors for the Georgia DOT have installed the new 45 M.P.H. speed limit signs and temporarily covered them. The speed limit will be reduced from west of Lockett Station Rd./Betty Rd. to west of Eight Mile Rd.

This is a WORK ZONE and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
