ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One of the bright spots on the season so far for the Albany State basketball team has been the play of forward Truett O'Neal.
O'Neal has had no problem adjusting to the division two level after playing the past two years at Albany Tech.
Truett O'Neal's play has been noticed by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The junior forward has been named the SIAC's player of the week.
O'Neal averaged a double double in three games last week. Two of those were wins, while the one loss came to Fort Valley State.
O'Neal understands the importance of beating the rival Wildcats and he is also knows the Rams face an important stretch of four straight road games.
"Everybody was frustrated by the loss," he said. "It should not have been that bad because everybody played hard. The next game we are going to be ready. Everybody is going to be ready to play and focused."
Albany State is on the road Thursday night at Benedict.
The Rams next home game is January 26th.
