VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –One of the child pornography raids law offficers carried out through the state was at the home of a 17-year old boy in Valdosta.

He has not been arrested, but his computer was seized and officers are questioning the teen.

A 17-year old is being questioned at the Lowndes County Jail for sharing child pornography over the internet . A search warrant was served at 7:30 Tuesday morning at the teenager's home off Breckland Drive.

The computers authorities seized are being searched. Statistics show that most preteens and teenagers use the internet.

"Ninety-three percent of children between the ages of 12 and 17 use the internet," said Joseph Driggers, Children's Advocacy Center Clinical Director.

He says it's important for parents to be aware of who their children are interacting with over the internet.

"It's also important as with any safety issue that you speak to your children about their internet use or online use," said Driggers.

Authorities are still investigating the child pornography case in Valdosta. So far no arrests have been made. Here are some resources on internet safety: Georgia's Cyber Safety Site and NetSmartz
