Students pray for troops and leaders

March 14, 2003

Albany - High school students joined hands and bowed their heads to pray for troops overseas.

On Friday morning, Monroe High School students and faculty made a circle around the flag pole. They thanked GOD for protecting troops and for guiding leaders to make the right decisions.

Students felt the prayer group was beneficial. Eleventh Grade Student, D'Angelo Jones, says, "To encourage us to stay focused on what God wants us to do and we need not to have any fear and not to be scared because he said he would protect us. "

The prayer circle was part of Governor Sonny Perdue's proclamation designating Friday March 14th through Sunday, March 16th as "Weekend of Prayer" in Georgia.
