Cairo - A woman accused of killing her friend is scheduled for re-trial next week.

Sixty-one-year-old Martha Ann Johnson of Cairo was charged with murder last summer. She's accused of killing 45-year-old James Edward Herring.

In December, a Grady County jury told the judge they were hopelessly deadlocked in a decision, resulting in a hung jury. Herring was stabbed to death in June and was found on the back steps of Johnson's trailer.

Johnson previously served time for voluntary manslaughter in Grady County. Her re-trial is scheduled Monday at nine.
