ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany State basketball teams came up just a little short on Saturday against Fort Valley State.
The men went to double overtime and lost 96-95. James Clark had attempted a game winning shot with five seconds to play but was off the mark. A tip in attempt by Brandon Sims was also unsuccessful.
Sean Glenn led the Golden Rams with a career high 26 points. Albany State fell to 3-7 overall and 3-4 in the SIAC.
The women's game was just as exciting, but not at first. Albany State was trailing by 21 with under nine minutes to play.
The Lady Rams responded with a 20-2 run. Callie Hamilton's lay up with 1:00 to play pulled ASU within three but the Lady Rams fouled and the Wildcats would make both free throws and escape with a 61-56 win. Hamilton led the Lady Rams with a game high 13 points
Albany State dropped to 2-10 overall and 2-5 in the SIAC.
Albany State will open up a four game road trip at Benedict College on Thursday next week.
