Cell phone used for bomb threat

March 13, 2003

Sylvester - Investigators tracked down the student who called in a bomb threat to Worth County High School yesterday by tracing his cell phone. Investigators say the boy made two calls to the school to tell them a bomb would explode inside within minutes. The school was evacuated while bomb sniffing dogs searched the rooms and halls.

Investigators were able to trace the call because it came from a student's cell phone. They replayed the 911 tape and the boy admitted to the crime. He's charged with two counts of making terroristic threats and two counts of transmitting a false alarm. He's being held at the Youth Detention Center.
