ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Law enforcers have been cracking down on drivers throughout the New Years Holiday.

The result, fewer fatalities. So far less than half of the predicted fatalities have occurred, as of 6 o'clock Friday afternoon six people have died.

The state predicts 16 will die by the end of the travel period at midnight on Sunday.

Last new years holiday 22 people died on Georgia roads.

State and local police are looking for impaired drivers and speeders.
